English Translation
6 Within 5o years the average life of our population has increased by about 20 years. That means: 1871 - 1880 every German became on average 37 years old. Today it reaches an average age of 60 years ! In 1900 we still had a surplus of 1,000,000 births, in 1932 the birth surplus was only 281,000 births. From 1910 to 1937, the age structure of our people has shifted considerably. For the age groups over 15 years, an increase of 13.5 million people is observed in these years, with the years under 15 years a decrease of 4 million. And the offspring? 1910 - 1937 the number of under 15-year-old young Germans decreased by 3.8 million, i.e. by 20%! This happened despite the general population increase, despite the increase in German families and despite the rise in men and women of childbearing and childbearing age! In 1910 two children under the age of 6 came to a person over 60 years old, in 1939 only one child left! The offspring of European peoples. 1936/37 were born to 1,000 inhabitants : Ukraine .... 34 Italy -. 23 Czechoslovakia 18 Romania ... 32 Ireland ... 20 England ...• 15 Greece 28 Holland ... 20 France ...... 15 Poland .... 26 Germany 19 I Norway ......15 Spain ... 26 Finland .. 18 Sweden ...... 14 The birth rates in Germany in 1937 exceeded those of 1933 by 28 % again. In almost all other countries it declined considerably: e.g. in France by 9%, in Poland by 6%. In the first quarter of 1940, 23 children were born in Germany to 1,000 (calculated on 1,000 inhabitants and a whole Jühr). Germany thus reached the birth rate of Italy. The success of the population policy in the Third Reich becomes visible. Progress can also be seen in the Ostmark: the number of births rose from 12.8 in 1937 to 14 in 1938. The Third Reich has clearly recognized the promotion of the German family as the most important task of the population policy, and our people are beginning to change inwardly. It has regained courage and confidence. Child-rich parents are respected more and more. The population problem cannot be solved, however, if German families are not granted their right to live and sufficient income, whereas it is important to strengthen the healthy, child-rich families. For what we have to fight is the securing of the existence and the multiplication of our race and our people, the nourishment of his children and the purification of blood, the freedom and independence of the fatherland. The leader: "My struggle". - L -
