Prague, 2 February 1943. 14.T Minutes of the meeting between the Secretary of State on the one hand and the Head of Section Dr.v.Popelka and Dr.Meixner on the other hand on the 1st of February, 8.30 p.m., at the Czerninpalais. President Dr. Hácha has repeatedly expressed thoughts of suicide in an interview he had with the State Secretary on 1st February, 12 noon. The Secretary of State considered it his duty to inform Dr. Popelka, Section Chief, as the Chairman of the President's Office, and Dr. Meixner, as Dr. Hácha's physician, on the same day. The Secretary of State opened the discussion with the brief indication that Hácha had made suicide intentions in the meeting he had with him, and asked Meixner to give a brief report on the state of Hákha's health. Although he (Hácha) had arteriosclerosis and a hypertrophic heart, he was completely intact in the condition of the other organs. The mental condition let him know that Hácha suffers from memory disorders. Mr Popelka and Mr Meixner were personally responsible for ensuring that Hácha did not remain in possession of harmful drugs and that serious disturbances in his mental condition were reported immediately. A suicide of Hácha would give the hostile foreign country the welcome opportunity to a great propaganda under the motto:
