14 Prague, February 1, 1943. Thihy Protocol on my meeting with President Dr. Hácha at noon in the Czerninpalais in terms of government troops. Today at 12 o'clock, President Dr Háha visited me and, after lengthy unclear remarks, handed me the attached written statement as his statement on the Prague of the war operation of the government force. At the end of the discussion, I could see that, contrary to the content of the pleading, Hácha considered that the command was of no nractical significance in terms of the state of training of the government force and that it was a measure which he did not know how to make it plausible to his people. I promised Háche to give him a decision shortly. Hácha spoke three times in the course of the conversation of self-* murder intentions. Although he would not shoot himself - his hand was too uncertain - he rather wanted to poison himself with the medicines available to him. I have seriously spoken to Hácha in his conscience, in view of the high responsibilities he bears towards his people, to get rid of the thoughts of suicide.
