-2- One discusses the programme for the 3o.l. and then comes to the state of the President. Dr.Gies asks inconspicuously about his private information, how the President of the Republic decided on the matter. v.Popelka replied: The President keeps his offer, since it is thoughtfully and seriously and honestly meant. Of course, he wanted to comply with all the conditions imposed by the Secretary of State, but he had the request to have the offer submitted to the Führer first before he entered the public, since it was uncertain whether the offer would be accepted and it was unpleasant for the President of the State to publish a refus from the Förder. Dr. Gies claims that the offer is already known by any indiscretions in the Czech public and, in connection with the announcement of the total employment in the Reich, is the reason for rumours about the mobilization of the Czech male population. It is to be assumed that a refus of the leader will be made known in the Czech public in the same way. v.Popelka defends himself that the indiscretion certainly did not take place by him or by the law firm of the President. Kliment only this morning, when he spoke of the rumors, was informed for the first time by him (v.Popelka). It would be incomprehensible to him from which place these things always push through. He suspects that the guilt lies with the ministers as he even sees their last meeting in the matter for missed. The President of the Republic and the Ministers responsible were Ministers Krejči and Moravec. Dr. Gies replied that he did not take care of these internals.
