9ai 4 - In addition, it is also explicitly pointed out that the price index reflects the evolution of the average price movement, of which the price trend, i.e. the total cost of living for individual families, may differ considerably, especially when the families try, e.g. These families do not then consume the quantities that would be available on average per head of population in the rationing of poultry meat, cheese, etc. As can be seen from the accompanying overview, the index for the group nutrition (according to the new changing schedule) from September 1939 (September 1939 = 100) to May 194l increased by 43.2%, against 33% according to the old (permanent) Prague pattern. Since March 1 939, according to the new "war pattern" the increase has been about 53%, whereas it is estimated to be 41% according to old Prague pattern, i.e. the existing quantity scheme, which does not take account of the changed consumption conditions. Thus, the new Prague pattern has an increase of 12% greater than the index number of the old Prague scale. Since the food group in the index of the cost of living accounts for more than 50%, the overall index for the requirement of living is increased considerably. The increase according to the old Prague scale is 46.8% from March 1939 to May 194l, but 56.3% according to a new index scheme of the diet group. As a result of the increase in the price level, the purchasing power of the krone, calculated from the reciprocal value of the index number for the cost of living from March 1939 (March 1939 = 100) to May 1941, fell by about 34%. In May 194l the purchasing Power of the koruna corresponded in protectorate average calculated on the basis of the quantity scheme of the Reich index number etwä'O,O97 RM. On behalf of: gez.
