8 half-preserved or completely disappeared - especially in mixed marriages. This is less evident in adults than in children: while the parents or the German parent are still powerful in the German language, although often only inadequate, it is an exception that the children speak German from mixed marriage. For the teachers in many places, it is therefore necessary to teach the German language from the ground up, which is particularly inhibiting the school operation, which in itself is already below average during the construction period. Therefore, parents from the old kingdom often prefer to send their children to school in larger places, e.g. Olomouc or in the old empire. For the language relations of the scattered German youth in the OLB Olmütz, one example from Prerau is characteristic: When the Prerauer HJ entered, it was observed that 8o % of the boys were talking Czech. When the leader of the group found that he did not get through with his German command, he completed his error in Czech language, whereupon the desired result came immediately. In addition to the currently existing six kindergartens and day care centres for the scattered German language of the OLB Olmütz Schülerheime, these schools provide a lasting and sustainable German influence even outside the actual school district. In the OLB Olmütz the need for such homes is all the more given, as many children of scattered German families are not able to attend a distant German school. Above all, in the school homes vide children of inferior parents with reduced accommodation costs or insignificantly receive. In the OLB Olmütt there are for the time being only in Braun- ölhütten and Olmütz Schülerheime; the latter also serves as an apprentice home for children from scattered German regions. The establishment of further school homes is planned.
