- 8 - The more detailed analysis of the exchange of goods in 1942 also gives an insight into the price structure of the imported and exported classes of goods. From this consideration an interesting fact arises: in comparison with the price situation, which was considered for the external trade of the Protectorate in 1941, the increase in import prices was much higher in l942 than that of the selling prices. The prices of the main categories of goods on the import side were on average about 37% higher than in 194l, whereas export prices only exceeded the level of the previous year by about 18.3%. As a result, the absolute decline in imports by 25.4% compared to the import results of 1941 /as mentioned above / was much greater and reached about 45.6%. The weekly decrease in the volume of goods by 7.4% increased by the inclusion of this price factor to about 21.7%.
