- 2 - so-called "street fondes" created a certain income through the taxation of vehicles and fuels, but these resources were not sufficient to carry out the planned road plan to its full extent. Thus, the resources resulting from this fund were used exclusively for improvements of the roads, but still not for the construction of modern roads. The construction of the motorways of the Reich made rapid progress, soon eliminated any lack of work in the Reich, so that the construction did not remain without influence on public opinion in former Czechoslovakia. It goes without saying that it was primarily the Czech engineers who called for the construction of at least one similar road, namely from Pilsen to Kaschau, to create an longitudinal main roadway for motor vehicles,which quickly and safely the West of the former. Czechoslovak Republic with its eastern countries, Slovakia and Karpatorussland.The Czech Ingenieures worked out in l935 a draft for the construction of the so-called "National Road Pilsen-Kaschau", whose length should be 700 km and width in the crown 20 m.
