Fr a n k Eing.: 2nd MRZ. 1944 Prague IV., Czerninpalais Betr.: Déutsch-auslandischer Akademikerverband Berlin (DAAV), Branch Prague In Prague, about 46o students of non-German nationality study; among them Bulgarians, Russians and Ukrainians are grouped into student associations.The work of these associations has not been under effective control. Scheel has issued an order that branches of the DAAV should be established in the framework of the Foreign Offices of the German Student Association until summer 1943. This order was carried out in most higher education cities. It states in detail that the already existing associations of foreigners, local German-foreign student clubs and similar organizations must be skilfully grouped together in the new branches of the DAAV. Hereby the existing associations form sections. This is to achieve that the DAav a framework organization for a. the political support under cultural and social cover b. a concentrated monitoring and control and c. the extremely necessary creation of personal ties between German and foreign academics. In addition to these positive tasks, in Prague (and in Brno) the nega- tive purpose of removing the majority of foreigners (here either from old habits or from the current lack of connection to German circles) in Czech society from their falsification with their Czech surroundings, slowly and unnoticed, but successfully.
