State Secretary 684 Subject: Improvement of remuneration for autonomous staff I submit the following report in accordance with the instructions of 27 July 1943 St.S.IV D-49 d/43 on the progress of the work on improving the remuneration of autonomous staff: First, comparisons were drawn up with regard to the attitude of the current remuneration of the protectorate (including allowances for inflation) to the Reich's remuneration in order to determine which improvement of the remuneration for the protectionate is possible afterwards. According to these comparisons, the following improvements can be made on average without overlapping with the Reich's salaries: 1. for officials in classes I-IV 20 % 2. for officials of the law firm's auxiliary service 25 % 3. for sub-officials and auxiliary staff 26 % 4. for the prosessionists of the Protectoraspost 26 % 5. with railway gagists without class 2o of duty 6. with sub-officials and auxiliary workers of the protectorate railways 26o of service 7. with professors and teachers 22o of the service 8. with the protectory police 18o of 9. with government troops (according to the proposal of the Wehrmacht authorized officer no increase with regard to the already authorized military force). The average annual increase in staff costs is 1.6 - 2 Mia K. This extra cost would increase to a total of 2 - 2.5 Mia K per year if the pensioners' salaries were to be increased.
