From July 1928 to June 1933 Fuhrich was a member of the local organization Komotau of the Social Democratic Party. His entry into this party was because on the occasion of an application for employment in the Central Social Insurance Institute, the membership of the Social Democratic Party was requested. Inwardly, Fuhrich had nothing to do with the social democratic party and did not engage in any political activity in any way. In March l938 he became a member of the SdP. For many years, Fuhrich has put his knowledge and experience into the service of the German case in the social security sector with great determination. He has advised the governing bodies of the SdP in the field of social security for years and has prepared their political and parliamentary activities in this field. His position as a professor of higher education gave him a more politically freer appearance. His efforts to clean up the specialized organization of Jewish elements were successful. After joining the Sudetenland to the Reich, he shared valuable information with the Reichskommissariat in Reichenberg on insurance matters. In December 1938 Fuhrich, on behalf of the Labour Office, presented the financial and political conditions in the local social security system in a detailed memorandum to the Reich Ministry of Economic Affairs in order to safeguard the interests of the German ethnic group in the rest of Czechoslovakia. In the spring of 1938, Fuhrich held two presentations in front of the Club of Deputies and Senators of the SdP and participated in a debate on social policy.
