Moreover, it was precisely during the investigations into persons in many cases that the person concerned did not have the necessary values of character, that there was no regulation, and that, in the absence of other persons of trust, very often from one and the same source, through different channels of news, there were suddenly several unfavorable reports of a person who had the political weight of these bodies, who could inflict serious suffering and injustice on the person affected. (b) A similar development in the Reich was terminated by the deputy representative of the Führer by his decree of 9 June 1934 and 14 December 1938, which prohibited the party and the divisions of all intelligence activities and authorized the SD as the party's exclusive intelligence and defense service. This has put an end to the existing intelligence within the party, in particular the extremely dangerous fragmentation and the mistrust of all against each other caused by mutual spying. However, the SD thus assumed an enormous responsibility, which made it necessary to build up its intelligence, evaluation and reporting according to the same points of view that were decisive for the political leadership. The aim and starting point of the security service activity is and is therefore the National Socialist world view.
