Copy The President of Moravia Brno, 17 January 1944. G.Z. 4/44-HA.III. To the President of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Chief Government Councillor Dr. Hunecke in Brno. Subject: Supply of vegetables to the workers in Moravia. Ostrau. Referring to the telephonic meeting of 15 January 1944, the president of the state of Moravia was appointed President of Brno. January 1944 I inform that the approximately 8 weeks long break in the vegetable supply of the city of Moravia Ostrau according to the documents available to me essentially meets the market association (:GEBIFA:): About the vegetable and fruit supply of Moravia.Ostrau have always been made complaints to the state authority. For about a quarter of a year these complaints took on a scale which could no longer be held responsible in the long run. For example, the NSDAP from Moravian Ostrava reports that no vegetables were available for the supply of the population for weeks. On the part of the regional authority, the Gebifa has repeatedly been made aware of the poor supply of vegetables to Moravian Ostrava by several experts, director Marquart. If, at first, no further steps were taken by the state authority to improve the supply of Moravian ostrava, this was due to the fact that the head of GEBIFA, director Puille, repeatedly promised to bring about an improvement in the fastest way. But at the beginning of December again from Moravian Ostrava it was reported that no improvement had taken place and that there had been no vegetables for weeks, was caused by Mr. Superior's Councillor Lindemann that the head of GEBIFA should present the necessary documents to the national authority. On the basis of the documents it was established that about 100 wagons of vegetables were stored for the supply of the country Moravia, of which 3.5 wagons were available in Austerlitz to supply the Wehrmacht with vegetables. In the meantime, the supply to the Wermacht was provided by the decree of the German State Ministry of Bohemia and Moravia, No. VI-3860-617/43 of 11 December 1943.
