Mr. KarlKrüge r. ehem.tsch.-Sl.Stkpt.d.Evid.D.d R., Budweis, Altstadtgasse 49. Subject:Reparation. Attachments:2. As to your application, dated 25 November 1940: According to § 2/l/ of the decree of the Reichsprotector in Bohemia and Moravia of 1/10 1940 /vBlRProt.1940,p.491/, with effect from 15 March 1939, remuneration can be re-established or granted for the first time to those persons who have suffered damage due to İhrer belonging to the German people. In the supporting documents, which are available at the Wehrfahrstelle in Prague VIl., Frindstras- se, you have entered the Czech and not the German nationality in the registration for the transfer to the former Czech Army as well as in the Wualifica- tion list and in the identity card. You have confirmed the accuracy and truthfulness of this information by yourself. In addition, in the entry of 13/9 1928, addressed to the former President of the Republic, and in which you asked for the transfer to the group of the public authorities of the supplementary or concept service, you pointed out that you, as commander of the Gendarmerie departments in Lower Austria, should be removed because of your Czech administration. You did not announce or prove a change in the ethnicity of the former tsch.-sl. military administration, otherwise a change would have been noted in the aforementioned documents. They were therefore not officers of the German, but of the Czech ethnicity in the former army and could therefore not suffer any damage because of belonging to the German ethnicity. Therefore, the Ministry of Economics and Labour cannot comply with your request under the above-mentioned regulation. For the Minister: Round stamp signature illegible of the Ministry for Economic Affairs and Labour For the rishy copy: Prague, October 20, 1942.
