From many considerations and experiences the plan of a publishing enterprise has emerged, which I would like to present to you. I have to catch up on this and briefly look at the development and work of the people and the Reich publishing house. As you know, the People and Reich publishing company originated from the border country work of activist youth. When, after the years 1933, the borderland issues became questions of general foreign policy at the same time, the work of the people and Reich Verlag expanded to a predominantly foreign policy. Here again, the problems of the border areas were in the foreground. In particular, I should like to remind you of the publicistic literature of the struggle that the people and the empire published before the return of the Eastern Mark, before the resolution of the Sudeten German and Czech question and before the solution of the Polish Prague. At the moment when the total German solution had been reached in all these areas, however, the publizist tasks were not completed, but had to be carried on even more from the standpoints of the empire. This resulted, among other things, from the Volk wnd Reich Verlag Prague, which was founded at the request of J-group leader State Secretary Karl Hermann Frank. In two years of hard work, besides the magazine "Böhmen und Mähren", which achieved high reputation and with a significant edition also a great effect, an extended book publication developed. In the annex, I would like to present you with a short report on the Prague people and the Reich publishing house.
