Calbnotfno Prrib DERJOURNALBOHMENUNDMAHREN The result of the second competition in the Adalbert-Stifter-Prize has shown that thanks to the prize competition has quickly taken root. The "Adalbert Stifter Prize" has become a fixed term in German literature of the present day. In terms of content, Bohemia and Moravia are once again in the foreground, although no narrow boundaries were drawn for the choice of topics. In the number of valuable submissions, the poetry appeared before the narrative. With the "Sonets around Prague" by Leo Hans Mally, which have now also been published as part of a larger collection of poems by the Volk und Reich Verlag in Prague, Prague has been far from visible in literary terms from the wreath of the German cities. Here, the Adalbert Stifter Prize has found a particularly beautiful justification. From the number of 276 entries, five were awarded the narrator's prize and three with the poetry prize. The verdict of the prize court and the subsequent recognition of the winners took place on 18 December 1942. Winners are: Narrator prize: 1st prize: Heinrich Bachmann "The home teacher" 2nd prize: Josef Schneider "Largo" 3rd prize: Leo Hans Mally "The sparrow paradise" 4. Prize: Heinrich Zerkaulen "The Encounter to Teplitz" 5th Prize: Hanns Lerch"The Black Rider of Eger" Poem Prize: . Prize: Leo Hans Mally "Sonette around Prague" 2nd Prize: René Schwachhofer "Böhmerland" 3. Prize: Hans Leo Sittauer "Bohemian Homeland" The award-winning novels and poems are reprinted in the Adalbert-Stifter-Preisbuch, which is published for 194z under the title "Encounter and Homecoming" in these days by Volk und Reich Verlag Prag.
