Prague, 1 March 1945. KR-FS: 1. II1. 1945 To Mr. Gauleiter and Reiohsstatthalter Henlein, Reichenberg. Dear Konrad ! In the completion of your telex No.l744 yesterday, I inform you that at present in the Protectorate a larger quantity of shoes is stored, which was frozen within the framework of the Reichsplanung set up by the Community of Shoes Berlin. The shoes are intended for the rest of the empire and have not yet been exported only because of a catastrophic lack of wagons. I stand like you on the point that in this emergency period large camps must not be left unused and must be equipped with them in a reasonable manner in the near future. Nevertheless, I do not have any authority over these shoes, since I would hardly intervene in the planning of the Reich. I ask you, at the Community of Shoes Berlin, to have the sole right of disposal and to be bound by guidelines of the Imperial Ministry of Economics, to obtain that the required number may be transferred to you from these imperial stocks. I would very much support this at the same time, since I myself urgently need shoes for daa Protectorate and want to turn away from the Reichslagerhalten in the Protectorate. Heil Hitler ! Dein - ui fy gez. Frank. LiM1-M-28/45.
