A b s ch ri f t Herta Schwemmer, née Muller Berlin-Pankow, 17.8.42. Raudnitz/Elbe (protectorate) Theresienstädter Str. 896 at the time Berlin-Pankow Florapromenade 26 Betr.: Protection of the becoming rich German mother in the Protectorate. My guide! Forced by the poor food situation for Reich Germans in the Protectorate and by the lack of suitable protective measures for the growing Reichsdeutsche mother, I address myself to you with the request for help in great need. My husband is an engineer in the service of the economic research societyxm.b.H. in November 41 after the city of Raudnitz/Elbe abkomnaniert. In April of this year we got married and have a flat in Raudnitz. For us, the allocation of life resources is exactly the same as for the Czechs and is far below the allocation in the Reich; e.g. we get only 35 g butter per week and this small amount of fat is not compensated by margarine or other fat. Since Raudnitz is a rural district, the allocation of potatoes is also lower than for Prague, and many special assignments, which are raised in Prague and other areas of the Protectorate, are not valid for Raudritz. To our great joy, I soon became pregnant. Since there is no German doctor in Raudnitz and the surrounding area, I sought advice and help from the German specialist Professor Dr. Egon von Weinzierl in Prague. He comforted me with the fact that this excessive breaking is partly due to poor nutrition and would occur over time. Food allocations or other help were not given by Dr. v. Weinzinl. When I became weaker as a result of the breaking, gallbladder infections occurred, I went to Raudnitz to see the Czech doctor Dr. Leo Prochaska, who ordered me 1/2 1 milk per day, and I now received butter instead of margarine, so that my entire weekly fat ration was 125.g Buttey. I can also obtain 260g of meat in addition to the strengthening not every week. Since there were no vegetables or fruit in the time, and the potato allocation per week was 1 - 1 1/2 kg, I became more and more sultry. During the hour-long arrival on the Raudnitz weekly market - the only possibility at that time to get some vegetables - I suffered on 3.7. a fainting case and fell so unhappy that I cut my nose crisscross with the keyring. I was taken to the Raudnitz hospital and the leading doctor - Dr. Jindrik Hesek - patched my nose in 3/4 hours with the help of a plastic seam
