- 10 - 28 2. Volkstumsarbeit und Vereinigungswesen. The month of April brought a decisive cut in the Czech association system by the general prohibition of activity imposed on German initiative by the Czech Ministry of the Interior against the national Czech gymnastics association "Sokol". On the occasion of the events in Yugoslavia, the Sokol suddenly activated its association work and the movement of its functionaries and set itself the goal to influence broad Czech sections of the population with the anti-German attitude practiced by the Socol. In particular, the lower units of the Sokol (Gaue and local branch associations) proved that they were interested in a general resistance will and a demonstrative attitude of the whole Chechnya towards the Reich, precisely in the eyes of the people, when the first reports of the anti-German turn of Yugoslavia and the corresponding attitude of Serbian Sokol arrived, numerous individual cases from the entire Protectorate marked the attempts of the Czech Sokol to influence the Czech population in the sense of a panslavist connection with the "Serbian brother- people". From 6, 4, 194l in the leadership circles of the Sokol it was spoken differently as the day of a decisive turning point of the Slavic and at the same time of the Czech schilling and emphasized that the Czech Sokol, similar to the Belgraden, had to take the leadership of the people when taking measures against the Reich. In Jitschin and other places, Sokol officials held victory celebrations after the anti-German riots of the Belgrade Sokol in Sokol-Heimen and emphasized that now under the leadership of the Czech Sokol the liberation hour would strike Czechism. in the ÖLB Moravian-Ostrava the spread of a new greeting formula "Peter greets you", whereby a position similar to the Belgrade Sokol of the Czech Sokol was promised. In Prague it was told that on the Czech side after the overthrow in Yugoslavia putsch plans were taken, which had been discussed openly even in the tramway. In connection with the Yugoslav events, Sokol officials have repeatedly stressed that the only force of Czechism right now is a hard Sokol education.
