THE SECRETARY TO THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN CHEIN AND MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 1657, sig. 109-4/1412
English Translation
- 47 - In the treatment of the school book system of the Czechoslovak Republic, I have limited myself to the German and Czechoslowak school book. These two also occupy the widest space in the whole school book trade. Besides, of course, the other minorities (Magyaren, Ruthenia, Poland, etc.) have their own school system, but this has only minor significance for us. In many places of the work there are points of interest which would require a further consideration of the relationship between Germans and Czechs, but I have to say that I do not want to go too far beyond the scope of this work. Above all, the chapter on the school system would lead us further into the struggle for popularism and its deepest problems. But the concession would also allow for a further execution. Nevertheless, I did not support a stronger construction of these two chapters, since they only constitute preconditions and prerequisites for the school book trade.
