Nevertheless, the collective term of the book trade or press trade has kept to this day and is also legally applicable in the trade regulations. The university freedoms were always considered to be for sale; they were even defensible and thus represented a certain value. In addition to these university freedoms, however, the authorities also had a right to 11) privilege until in 1786 Joseph II of the University took the right of enrollment for book and art activities and also for book printers. Joseph II. But went even further:- Two years later he declared the book trade as a free trade 12) and even allowed the colportage trade. However, this freedom did not last too long. The efforts of the booksellers managed to enforce in 13) year l8o6 the order for bookseller and antiquarian. Only a short period of freedom remained, and the continuing obligation to grant concessions in the revolutionary years of l848. A few years later (l859) also the new trade order appeared, "which likewise declared the book, art and music trade, the trade and the loan libraries as 14) concessional trades"- Of course this legal anchoring of the concession obligation in the trade regulations did not seem to be too much to be necessary.
