13 1 Anlg. Prague, 13.12.1940. V e r m e r k concerning agricultural science. In Poznan not only a large new agricultural faculty is established, but also a large Reichsforschungsanstalt für Landwirtschaft in Bromberg. According to the enclosed press note, in addition to two already directed institutions for the Ostmark, corresponding Reichsanstalten for the other Reichsgaue are to be created. Despite the great agricultural importance of this area and its size, it must be said that the agricultural science in Bohemia and Moravia is unfortunately still in trouble: 1.) the agricultural experimental and research system was entirely in Czech hands; 2.) a German agricultural university, without which the aforementioned research system cannot exist, exists in Tetschent Liebwerd. In the opinion of all experts, however, it is quite meaningless. Therefore, her transfer to Prague is considered from the Reich Ministry of Education. Although the Reichsgau Sudetenland loses the only university in its territory, no objections to the transfer of the agricultural college Tetschen- Liebwerd as a faculty to the University of Prague are to be expected from there, because they have also convinced themselves of the untenability of the present condition. The experts appointed in the Reich to examine these questions, in particular Prof. Dr. Konrad Meier, Berlin, Chairman of the Research Service and Prof. Dr. Giesecke Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Berlin, have proposed that the Agricultural University of Tetschen- Liebwerd be transferred as a faculty to the University in Prague and that a higher agricultural school be established in Tetchen-Liebwerd. after a very important question, which could hardly be solved in the foreseeable future without an initiative from Prague, seems to have an effect, that Brno also strives for a Faculty of Agriculture and that also the question, St. S.
