9/a If, in the future, the teachers of the Department of General Sciences of our university are only more loosely in contact with all the technical knowledge and if they lack the constant close and personal contact with the teachers in the technical fields, this would have to have an extremely adverse, even dangerous effect on the teaching operations of the technical areas. In this case, too, there is a lack of the possibility of educating suitable young people from their own fields and from their needs, for which the Technical University has for many years been making great efforts. These disadvantages would have to be especially apparent right now, after the mathematical-nature-science= scientific preparation time was partially reduced from 4 to 3 semesters. The Ministry extends above all to the fact that such a merger of the faculty would allow for a more general occupation of the chairs and that a better cooperation would take place. Such cooperation between the university and the university is also readily possible with the current state and has been largely carried out so far. In 19935 professors of the General Department appointed for the university could be employed by the teaching assignments for lectures at the university and vice versa.
