The Secretary of State. St.S.366/43. 1043 1.) To the Ministerial Director of the State Council Dr.Gritzbach, Berlin W8, • Leipzigerstrasse 3. Dear Mr. Dr. Gritzbach ! During the absence of ji-Oberst-Gruppeführer and Gene- raloberst Daluege, the letters from 17.2 and 6.6.d.J8. - signs 3730/43 and J.Nr. 309/43 are submitted to me. In view of the personal wish expressed by Mr Reichsmarschall, I have examined particularly carefully the question of land acquisition by Prince Ludwig of Hesse. I have come to the conclusion that, at the moment, with regard to the political situation in the Protectorate, it is difficult to be responsible for initiating the acquisition of a larger forest good by Prince of Hesse. In the special circumstances of the Protectorate, there are justified factual concerns about the acquisition of land during the war also with effect for the protectorate. The high class in the Protectorates has been subjected with the approval of the Pührer to expropriation measures. These measures, which are of far-reaching popular and settlement political importance, would be deprived of the ground if now, on the other hand, a member of the German High Nobles were given a lie to snm cmndenderwerh.
