STATE SECRETARY FOR THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 606, sig. 109-4/353
English Translation
On 23rd and 23rd May 1939, produced by Dr. Piesbergen, the Moravian Group and the Oberlandrats, the relevant decree No. I 2 a - 1520 went to the matter. The same was dealt with in a meeting of the Oberlandsrat in mid-Decem- on the subject. 6.) The decree does not in any way show that Czech-led municipalities, especially those with an exceptionally small German minority, are to be used for the payment and maintenance of HJ-Heimen. This view of the Gauleitung Niederdonau must be based on a misunderstanding. To take note, I enclose the decree. 7.) But even if the funds for the establishment of HJ-homes were made available by the Czech-glide communities, in contrast to the view of the Gauleitung Niederdonau, I see here nothing shameful, all the more so since the Czech municipalities for decades financed by German taxpayers' money their own cultural institutions, and in the concrete case it would be merely a reparation. 8) The proposal made in the penultimate paragraph of the letter to the Secretary of State to establish the places in which HJ-Heime is needed has, moreover, long since been implemented, since we are in each case considering all the resulting necessities. It is impossible to determine the number of 2 to 3 homes in each district of the Oberlandes, since it is not a matter of schematic assessment for all districts of the Upper Lands Council, but of local circumstances.
