English Translation

Gentlemen directors, my students, I have gathered you here in this very extraordinary way, because the matter at stake is from sdbh outside ordinary national concerns, that it does not lead to a postponement. I want to keep an eye on it with you and clarify it to all its extent and in all its consequences. I feel obliged to you because, as Minister of Education, I am in the first row responsible for the fate of the Czech school system. In the last few weeks, as has been noted by school and police authorities, there have been more and more phenomena in your ranks, which could be dismissed in detail and at normal times simply as louses, but which, if continued, could become a great danger to the Czech people and their culture. You know that some districts of Bohemia and Moravia have been granted the right to stand by the Imperial Protector. The reasons for this, as it was known by newspapers, were that some hotheads and a number of people seduced by foreign agitation were preparing a resistance movement against the Reich and by sabotage were trying to disrupt the work of the Protectorate for the Reich. In addition, there was another group that damaged the diet of our people by food deportations and smuggling. No state in the world and this cannot even be offered in times of peace, the less so is the Great German Empire, which today is leading the gigantic struggle for the social, economic and political reorganization of Europe. In this struggle, the empire cannot tolerate any contradictions and disturbances in the back of its fighting force.
