43 Annex 1 Speech by K.H. Fr a n k on the occasion of the solemn renaming of the Prague Moldovan lands to "Reinhard-Heydrich-Ufer" on 18 October 1942. As in many cities of the German Reich, the names of great Germans who lived and worked in this city or for them bear the same name as in the old Prague, in whose walls history of the Reich has been designed for centuries. Today we are gathered here to carry out an act of commemoration, so that living and coming sexes can continue to remember the man, who, even if only for a short time, was all the more determined and decisive as the Führer's representative, directing the fate of Bohemia and Moravia: to Reinhard Heydrich. In June of this year in celebrations and commemorations of the past life and struggle of the fallen, his merits have been honoured. I do not want to repeat this today; it is enough to recall once again the words of the Führer, which he spoke when, at the state act in Berlin, the Reich stood on the grave of the dead: "He was one of the best National Socialists, one of Germany's strongest defenders of the idea of the Reich, one the greatest opponents of all enemies of the Empire. He has fallen as a blood-witness for the preservation and security of the empire". But we want to take advantage of this hour in order to remember the political legacy of fallen blood-breeds, which are pointing to the future, to speak of the task and obligation imposed on the people of this area by the leaders and the kingdom, that is, history, and which must be fulfilled because fate wants it.
