28 of our people, in which we have had our experience with the Germans for many centuries. If we have opposed Germany, our political and economic situation has always been uncertain and bad. For geopolitical, economic and social reasons, I think it is impossible for our 7 1/2 million people to ever exist in the middle of the German habitat as an independent state. Even if Germany were not to emerge victorious from this war, a permanent and independent Czechsovakei would not be able to survive 20 years the second time. To this end, as the chairman of the government, I tried to fulfil my duties. I know that in recent times, above all because of the broadcasting propaganda from abroad, a development in the Protectorate was initiated, and that the German authorities could not see quietly on diapDuration. I have repeatedly tried to find a way out of this situation for our people, which should lead to real, honest and permanent cooperation with the German people. - Unfortunately, I did not come to my own people's understanding in their own interest. Man has always invoked to me only the autonomy promised by the leaders, not considering that the prerequisite for this autonomy was the completely loyal attitude and attitude of our entire people.
