English Translation

The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Republic has adopted the following law. Art. I. For the purpose of summarizing and supplementing the provisions of national rights in the Czechoslovak Republic and for the purposes of a renewed solemn declaration of the will of the Czechoslovakian Republic to fulfil its historical mission of bringing nationalities closer together in the spirit of democracy and humamity, the following nationalities statute of the CzechOSlovak republic shall be adopted. Art. II. Insofar as this law does not provide otherwise, the provisions relating to the matters referred to in the same shall remain unchanged, as well as the provisions which provide for the attainment by other means of the purposes pursued by the Statute of Nationalities. Art. III. /l/ This law takes effect on the day of the announcement with the exception of the measures of organizational character. / §§ /, which are effective with 1.Jänner l939. /2/ The provisions of §§ have no validity in the area of Podkarpatska Rus. Insofar as the regulation of the other provisions falls within the competence of the Podkarpatska Rus Landtag, the latter will only apply in this area until the new regulation by this Landtag. /3/ This law is implemented by all members of the government.
