GERMAN STATE MINISTRY FOR CHECH AND MORAV, PRAGUE (1906) 1939 - 1945 (1965), inv. 443, sig. 110-4291
English Translation
The Minister for Economic Affairs and Labour has issued an announcement which simplifies the procedure for granting salary increases to employees in accordance with the Private Law and adapts them to the requirements of total war. In addition, all applications for the improvement of employees' salaries during the total war period may be submitted to the employment offices only on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October in the form of collective applications from the enterprises. Applications for salary increases of more than 1 000,- gross monthly must generally be postponed until 1 April 1945. The same principle applies if higher salaries are to be increased in the case of new recruitment. Since in these cases there is a social need to eliminate hardships/to be recognised, non-gressive income improvements are not urgent for the duration of total war. The processing of such applications by firms and the employment services would no longer be in line with the requirement that only war-ridden tasks should be carried out. It should also be noted from the point of view of executives that they are now understandingly taking on the constraints associated with the increased pay freeze, even if the allocation of increased responsibility and benefits in: special exceptional cases could justify further income increases at normal times. The announcement further clarifies that the other provisions on wage formation continued to apply unchanged during the war.
