h always paid attention to our landscape and always liked to come to us and still comes. The partial work of the individual landscapes in the Sudetenraum was then summarized in the "German Association for Home Research and Homeland Education" (1924), the entire popular education work in the „Society for German People's Education" (Societies for German Folk Education) (1925). Emil Lehmann has been living in Reichenberg since 1928, where his collaboration with Prof. Dr. Erich Gierach became particularly important for the spiritual recognition and leadership of Sudeten Germanism. He acquired the youth home in the Liebig settlement in Reichenberg, which since 1932 has been home to the Society for German Education and has been the site of many conferences and schools and is still today. On behalf of the Society, Emil Lehmann issued in 1931 the "Handbuch der sudetendeutsche Volksbildung" (Handbook of SudetenGerman Education), which in self-representations of the Sudete German associations offered a overview of all associations and institutions of Suteten German popular education in the broadest sense of the word. It is not possible to treat all the writings and books of Emil Lehmann in the context of this appreciation. But I do not want to miss out on the whole of Sudeten-Germanism, especially in the hindsight, on its "Sudetendeutsche Volkskunde" (1926). It is a first overall representation of the Sudeteten-deutsche Volkstum in its tribal structure and makes it possible for any Sudet-German native researcher to see his landscape in connection with the rest. Of course, Lehmann's activity became dangerous to the Czech rulers. He was taken from his teaching position, he was persecuted and finally sentenced to two years of imprisonment in 1936 in the course of the judicial proceedings against Patscheider. At the express request of his friends, however, he crossed the border and found a friendly welcome in the Reich. He= held a teaching position at the Hochschule für Lehrerbildung and at the Technische Sochschule in Dresden. In unbroken freshness he continued his work, integrating his work ii home. Emil Lehmann, at his people's court, had focused on adult education, but also on youth education.
