At the Prague German University, he received further inspiration and knowledge from the well-known folk scholar Prof. Dr. Hauffen. As a middle school teacher in Graz and especially during his long-term stay in the Schönhengster Städt- chen Landskron, which was interrupted only by a temporary employment in Aussig and Tepliß, he learned the border conditions and participated in the German radical party and then in the DNSAP with full Einsaß in the popular struggle. In this respect, his work in the Schönhengstgau has become exemplary. Emil Lehmann founded the SudetenGerman home-building movement. In this connection, he worked in the "Schönhengstgau" (Germany) as a pioneer in the field of education. His thoughts were received everywhere with enthusiasm. The Böhmerland-Woche in Triebsch near Leitmeriß in 1919 is in the memory of all who we have participated in it. Lehmann's thanks were also found by the folk educators in the Reich, with whom he was in spiritual contact from the beginning, recognition and sec- 48113. Emil Lehmann's reconstruction work, in which he found the valuable employee in Josef Blau, Ignaz Göth, Josef Rundt, Rudolf Lochner and many other Freun-, led to a strong upswing in the research of the homeland and the care of homely life in all parts of the Sudeten region and got the scenic impression everywhere. But everywhere they served the same goal: the unfolding of the German people and the will to the people's community and liberation. This political intention led to the conscious spiritual union with the tribe-like neighbours in the Reich and formed the background of the large joint meetings. At such a meeting in 1927 in Eger and 1930 in Cham i. Dbpf., we settled on the common tribal territory and then founded with our neighbours the "Egertisch=Oberpfälzische Arbeitsgemeinschaft heimat=nähtender Vereins auf dem Nordgau", which held its Northgautage alternately in the Egerland and in the Dberpfalz). We could not have thought of these meetings without Emil Lehmann's presence and cooperation, as we at all note with gratitude that Emil Lehmann 1) German Day in East Prussia 1922 and Styria 1924, consultation week in Mar- burg a. d.
