Security Service of the Reichsführers-H Prag-Bubentsch, 16. 4.1943 SD section Prague Sachsenweg telex 774-44 III - PA 449/C To the State Secretary at the Reich Protector in Bohemia and Moravia 44-group leader K.H. Fr a n k Prag Betr.: Professor Dr. Gerhard G e s e m a n n, Director of the Institute for the Clients of Eastern and Southeast Europe at the Charles University in Prague. As is known here, Professor Gesemann received leave until the end of August 1943, which caused a certain excitement in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the Charles University, since Professor Gesmann had always been able to find out a lot of free time for himself since his beginning of work in Prague; he obviously had no desire for a proper teaching operation and therefore ensured that he could pause several months at intervals of about 3 semesters. It is therefore suggested that a letter be sent to the rector of the Karlsuniversität, it-Stan-dartenführer B u n t r u, about the following content: "I hear that Professor Gesemann is on leave until August. Since Gesemann, from the beginning of his academic career in Prague, has once again understood how to avoid intensive university activities at the place, I would like to state the following: 1.) How often has Gesemann been on leave since the start of his teaching activity in Prague? When assessing the reasons, I ask his colleagues to make contact with me if necessary. 2.) Is the present leave of absence considered to be justified under the more stringent provisions applicable to the 4th year of war? Is there a medical application which requires a temporary withdrawal from the higher education system? " alr a 1D-342 141
