57 The Reichsführer Neichskommisfar for the consolidation of Berlin, 2 October 1940. German Volkstums I/O/42 S/6.7.40 Dr. B/Bö. To the Minister of Economics of Neich Berlin W8 Behrenstr. 62 As from the order of the ReichsFührer 1⁄2 of 9 May 1940 from and/or the circular of 5 May 1940. On 1 July 1940, Poland's families, who are eligible for Germanic citizenship, are to be brought out of the eastern regions of capable Poland= families and fed into the Reichsgebiet. Jn the majority are agricultural workers. These Polish families are supposed to be treated in every way as Reichsdeutsche. They are not subject to the special provisions applicable to Poland or to other foreigners. As I am informed, the Poles are often not in the possession of the necessary work clothes, above all there is a lack of firm footwear. at my request, endeavours to remedy the situation, but due to the lack of suitable garments, it is not always possible for her to obtain what is necessary. Since the Polish families capable of German-speaking are to remain permanently in Germany and can be expected to be naturalized in the foreseeable future, I ask that the district economic offices order that these Poles be provided in the same way with clothes cards and, which is particularly urgent, with references for footwear as Reichsdeutsche. I would be grateful for an early return, so that I can inform the higher ß- and police leaders responsible for the care of the German-speaking Poles accordingly. In representation, e.g. Greifelt 4-Brigadeführer The Neichsführers Neich's commissioner for the consolidation of Berlin, November 9, 1940. German popularity IO/42 E/8.8.40 Dr. B/Bö. To Mr. Reichsarbeitsminister Berlin SW 11 Saarlandstr.96 ....... According to the guidelines drawn up by the Reichsführer 2, the one-democracy Einsat-capable Poles should be treated as Reichsdeutsche. They are in the possession of Eindemohrungs= Foreign passports with the note "State affiliation unexplained (German)". I would ask that the competent Poles of the Landesarbeitsamt and Arbeitsamt (National Employment Offices) order that, in the case of German-speaking Poles, commercial parties in the Old Kingdom, which are mediated by the procedure laid down by Reichsführer by letter of 3 July 1940, the fees for the employment of foreigners should not be levied.
