Before passing from a position of the 10th degree to a post of the 9th degree, the official must first pass an examination. He can then proceed by means of promotion to places of the 6th degree. (c) The officials of Group C shall be regarded as middle-level officials; advance admission to a group C official post shall be subject to the attendance of a higher school (called middle-school) without the last three classes; a number of posts shall be reserved for long-term soldiers (military candidates). The official must first undergo an entrance examination for the civil service. After a probation period, he is definitely employed, i.e. for a lifetime, in the event of probation without passing a special examination. The official first receives remuneration after the 13th degree and rises up to and including the 12th degree by means of the advance of the Jeit. Before moving from a 12th grade post to a 11th grade position, the official must first pass an examination. By means of promotion, he may then move up to 8th grade posts. For admission to such a post of civil servant, the attendance at the elementary school is comparable to that of the primary school in the Reich.
