0 193 The Minister of the Reich of the Jnnern II SB 5526/39 Berlin, 9 December 1939. 6839 Repatriation of People's Germans from South Tyrol Transferred to a German civil servant or to another civil servant's employment II S B 4364/39 Subsequent to my nundy letter of 21 October 1939- 6839 I. According to the "guidelines for the return of the Reich Germans and the emigration of the Volfs Germans from the Alto-Adige to the German Reich of 21 October 1939" agreed between the German government and the Jtali government, all people Germans who are covered by these guidelines will have until 31 October 1939. According to the explanations given on 17 Nobember 1939, officials who decide to emigrate are not entitled to the 31st of December 1939 to make a binding final declaration to their native community whether they wish to retain Italian nationality or to acquire German nationality and to move to the German Neich. ==References====External links== Although it is ensured that the officials leaving Italian services will continue to be paid their remuneration in the amount up to the date of admission to the Reich, but at the expense of the Deutsche Neiches, it is in the interests both of the emigrating officials and of the German Reich that the officers departing from Jtalien will be taken over with the most tumultuous acceleration into a German civil servant relationship. All the more urgent is the transfer into the German civil servant's employment for those who have previously been employed in Jtalien Jnhaber for a place of employment or any other place of residence provided by the servant. The above has to apply accordingly also to those people Germans who have not previously been employed in a public-law (official) relationship, but on private service contract in the public service in Jtalien and who opt for the emigration to the German Reich. With regard to these people's Germans too, it is important to ensure that they are transferred to a post in the public service corresponding to their previous activities. Therefore, in agreement with the Reichsführer 2, Reichskommissar für die Festigung deutschen Volkstums, I would ask you to treat as particularly urgent all the events relating to the takeover of peoples Germans who had previously been employed in the public service in Jtalien. II. I would also point out the following: 1. In order to simplify the procedure for the accommodation of the emigrating People's Germans in the public service of the German Reich, it has been agreed with the official German immigration and migration office set up in Bolzano by Reichsführer 2, Reichskommisfar for the consolidation of German ethnicity, that all Germans employed as civil servants, employees or workers in the civil service in Jtalien, who migrate to the German Empire and seek re-use in public service, will present a questionnaire on the basis of the corresponding model, along with a self-written curriculum vitae of the Official German Immigration and Return Office in Bolzano; for pensioners who have the 60th anniversary of the death of a German citizen. A special questionnaire, the model of which can be seen in Appendix II, is valid for persons who have not yet reached the age of 18 and wish to be re-used in the public service of the German Reich. The official German immigration and return office will ensure that these documents are forwarded to the competent Supreme Reich authority via the Reichsführer 43, Reichskommissar für die Festigung deutschen Volkstum. Further documents can be obtained if possible, since the immigrant people will be sent back to the Reich.
