We Prague, 2 October 1939. Secretly, Mr. Glessgen. The Secretary of State has received the following notification: "On 1.9.1939, the Economic Department of the ČNS People's Association paid salaries in advance for the next 3 months. However, the individual commissions from their own funds paid the same advance payments to the same officials. Some of the better-acquired employees and executive secretaries have thus received up to 42.ooo K at once. Despite this, the salaries are to be paid out at l.lo. to all as usual and a new advance is to be given by the commissions, which should be charged as Christmas congratulations. The smaller employees of the ČNS defend themselves against this clear preference of court-appointed officials and threaten to inform the Czech public about the money economy in the ČNs. Abernals is named Dr.Ing.Zástëra as the driving force of this financial behaviour of the Czechs, which is justified by threatening measures from the German side. Also in the province, advance payments from the ČNS offices to their employees are made and, in addition to the concern about the dissolution of the ČN, Danit also explains that the payments are to be used for the procurement of food supplies and hamster purchases." The Secretary of State requests that the report be reviewed in consultation with SS-Obersturmbannführer Böhme and then that the train be made and distributed a flyer in which the behaviour of the Czech People's Community is denounced. Before the leaflet is distributed, it shall be submitted for approval by both the holding and the fore for the purpose of the Secretary of State.
