For the most important industries, the picture is as follows: gross hourly wages of the first and third "leads" in the iron and steel industry are about 15% lower than gross hourwork in the Empire. Taking into account the higher taxes and social charges in the Reich, hourly earnings in the Protectorate correspond roughly to hourly wages in the Empire. Weekly earnings are somewhat lower than the weekly earnings of the Reich as a result of a shorter working life in the protectorate. Similar to the L. and 3. "People" of the iron-making industry are the conditions in the foundries, the model joinery, the modelling locksmithies of the foundry, the trained workers of the woodworking industry, the skilled workers in the glass industry, in the cement industry and in the female trained workers in textile industry. For the rest of the working population and industries, hourly earnings are between 20 and 25% or even more below the Reich average. Studies on gross earnings in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia are continuing.
