In addition to the large loss of external trade due to the influence from abroad, further losses result from the paralysis of export possibilities and the will to export by the changes in the domestic market. Prior to the creation of the Protectorate, the local industry was forced in any case to export to a certain extent, as the domestic market was simply not sufficient for the existing capacity. Since the integration into the Great German Reich, employment has increased, once directly by the large orders, which were placed mainly in the Wehrmacht sector from the Old Reich after the Protectorate, and on the other hand partly by the associated increase in the employment of protectorates in general, e.g. by sub-contracting for these orders. The investigation of the companies in particular, which formerly represented a very substantial part of the export of the Protectorate, shows that public procurement is increasingly seriously affecting export opportunities.
