From April 1944 In order to adapt the administrative districts in the area of the province of Saxony to the WU8 Reichsdefendungsbezirke, I determine: § 1 (l) The provinces of Magdeburg and Halle-Merseburg are formed for the territory of the state administration. (2) For the district of Erfurt, the Reichsstatthalter in Thuringia is entrusted with the performance of the tasks and powers of the head of the state administration. (3) The tasks and powers of the Chief Executive Officer in the area of the Magdeburg Waterway Directorate, the Water Management Centres for the Elbe and for the Saale area in Magdeburg, the State Fisheries Office for the inland waters of the province of Saxony and the Eich-direktion Magdeburg remain with the Chief President in Magdeburg for the entire scope of their districts. § 2 A division of the Provincial Association of Saxony as well as the provincial institutions, foundations, funds, societies and other bodies with their own legal personality, to the extent that these exist for the Province of Saxony to date, does not take place before the end of the war; the Provincial Union of Saxony remains until that time under the direction of the Chief President in Merseburg. §3 (l) The seat of the supreme president of the province of Magdeburg is Magdeburg. (2) The office of the prime minister in Magdeburg is combined with the office of supreme president in Magdeburg. The tasks of the Prime Minister are performed by the general representative of the Supreme President in the state administration under the authority of "The President of the Government in Magdeburg". §4
