9 181 In the past month, storms, hail and cloud breaks caused millions of damage. On May 9, the Pilgramser area was affected by a hail-bound cloud break, a strip in a width of 1/a - 1 km, which includes about 25 municipalities and 3a00 hectares of arable land, 230 hectares of meadows and 8 hectares of gardens. Due to the flood, the crop was swept away from the fields and the grain was damaged by 55% on the root crops of 40% on the forage crops of 30% and 40% on fruit. The total damage is 8,500,000 K. In order to partially compensate for the damage, l6o q oat seed, 40 q clover seeds and 40 q ammonium sulphate have to be procured. On the same day a catastrophic hail strike occurred in the area around Suchental, district Wittingau. On 27 May, the municipalities of Mecherschish, Klein-Slivno, Ober-Slivno, Unter-Slevno, Strieschowitz, Potschatek and Kropatsch - 33 Wrutitz in the district of Jungbunzlau were affected by a hail strike and cereals and fodder fruits were destroyed by 50 - loo%.
