The patron of the local Department of Cultural Policy Minister Dr. Frhr. Gregory presented to you in a lecture some time ago the broadcasting relations in the Protectorate. First of all, it was intended to organize German and Czech broadcasting in the protectorate and to form a subsidiary company of the Reichsrundfunkgesellschaft. However, the later discussions with your staff showed that such an association in the Protectorate was not considered expedient. Consequently, the head of the Department of Cultural Policy was commissioned to carry out a conversion of the Czech Broadcasting Company corresponding to German interests, which has now been carried out. The Czech Broadcasting Society still has to fulfil only Frotektorat tasks. Although the Czech Broadcasters were, of course, politically under our supervision so far, it was a company under Czech management whose shares were 51% of the total. The new regulation now provides for the following: The share capital disintegrates into two parent deposits, one of which is in the hands of the Reich in the amount of 49 percent, and the other in the form of 51% of the share capital in the ownership of the protectorate government. By means of a special treaty (syndicate treaty) it is assured that in all matters of great importance the voice of the empire -2-
