114 - 3 - The proposed new regulation would eliminate all existing danger moments, and it would also have the potential to reduce the use of small funds to generous advertising, which would most likely lead to a 50% increase in the number of broadcasting channels from 860,000 RM to 1.230,000 RM. The planned measures may be approved by the Reich Minister for People's Enlightenment and Propaganda. According to my findings, the Reich's Propagama Ministry considers that a certain decentralisation is desirable in the field of radio broadcasting in the Great German Empire. In addition, however, the newly founded protectorate broadcasting company with the Reichsrundfunkgesellschaft would have to be integrated into any form of organisation (e.g. as a subsidiary) or similar, so that close cooperation would be ensured. The protectorate government would have to agree to the new regulation in view of the fact that broadcasting is a political instrument of decisive importance, and it will be all the easier to do so, since the Czech sector is preserved and can work culturally independently in the context of political needs. The establishment of the new company will allow for a significant increase in our protectorate broadcasting work without using our own budget. I ask Your Excellency to give us the basic approval to the reorganization that I have proposed. I will then initiate the necessary discussions with the Reichsministerium für Volksaufklärung Randbemer- and Propagarda and with the relevant Tachechian bodies:(grün).V.N. 18.6. gez. Gregory On the basis of my lecture on 24.6.40, Reichs Minister Dr. Goebbels gave his fundamental consent to the formation of a German-Czech broadcasting company in the Protectorate.
