The building-up of the Central Association of Craftsmen could be based on already existing corporations, above all it was the professional cooperatives in the individual districts and also larger formations, which were grouped together in the Landesgenossenschaften. In addition to the cooperatives, there were also committees in which trade and trades were united in membership. The first task in the initial construction work was carried out in the stratification of the craft trade in the following groups: l. Construction. 2. Metalworking. 3. Woodworking. 4. Leather manufacturing. 5. Paper and chemical industries. 6. Textile and clothing industries. 7. Services and health industries. 8. Food industries. In the course of the further implementation of the construction work, the existing cooperatives were merged into national associations within the framework of the individual groups. It is also envisaged that regionally the cooperatives of the individual districts will be brought together in the districts of the specialist cooperatives. The final organizational development work will be completed with the complete classification of such occupational groups, which are still united in a number of mixed companies, into the relevant section.
