The economic importance of the textile industry is demonstrated by the fact that the export results are by no means undecided even during the present war.With all friendly and new-bred countries good business relations are maintained. Even in the clothing industry, despite the change to the war economy, exports have been carried out with good success, except for a lively domestic business. Sugar production by the Protectorate will rightly expect, as experts, to allow widely larger beet cultivation by adapting it to the entire economy of the empire. The production battle of the agriculture of the Pro- tectorate is initiated by the German authorities and finds with the peasantry strongest interest. By making available very large quantities of artificial fertilizers the intensification of agriculture is greatly facilitated. The Reich alone has reduced the potash trip for this action of 30%. The promotion of the export of the protectorate industry will mainly involve the expansion of the Oder Danube Canal, which is intended to export iron and coal, agricultural machinery, etc. of the clothing industry, leather goods and footwear, glass and other products to these countries in addition to the machinery necessary for the construction of the Balkan industry.
