I cannot let this day pass without expressing the feeling of sincere appreciation that I am giving to your person as well as to your stately activity. At the same time, I convey to you my best wishes for your further personal well-being. From Providence in the hour of fate of your people to its leaders, you did not hesitate, in clear knowledge of the great turn of time, to show your people the way at the last hour, which could protect it only from the imminent destruction and gave it the opportunity to approach an ihappy future in the federation of the Great German Empire. With tenacity and faithfulness, you have gone ahead with your people in this way, unwaveringly even in the hours of severe trials. The fact that Providence wants to allow you, despite your advanced age, to see yourself and your people crowned at the goal and your own life's work by the salvation and the final assurance of a happy future of the Czech people, is the sincere wish with which I commemorate yours today.
