the people, but also whole parts of the world, measure their forces in a struggle whose scale and size are hardly equal in history. Thanks to the prudence and the prudent decision of the President of the Republic in March 1939, our people were spared the primordial effects of the war and their sons did not need to bring blood sacrifice for the creation of the new Europe. The fateful bond of our countries with the Great German Empire, which was expressed three years ago in the adoption of the protection of the Bohemian countries by the Empire, does not, however, lie in the fact that our people stand aside in this large-scale reconstruction of the European Community and do not become directly involved in the new world of thought, after which the social order of the whole European area will be shaped in the future. As has already been pointed out by others, our people in the new Europe will be able to adopt that position.
