In my view, there is not a minute left to be lost, while a Slovak government (Tiso) would have to be given a clever political game and be forced to cooperate, but at the moment any slo-wak influence (sovereignity claim) would be eliminated on German actions. Tiso and his ministers, as unfortunately German services in Bratislava do, would be completely absurd and would have the most serious consequences. I do not doubt for a moment that the Slovak government circles are ready for any betrayal if the situation allows them. Tiso, whom I personally know well, is a very big player. The military difficulties must not be underestimated either, since qualified Russian and Czechoslovak leaders are constantly deposed with legionnaire troops and Slovak army and executives are largely overrun, but unreliable in the rest. After the uprising has been overthrown, long gang struggles in the cluttered mountain areas - also along the Moravian border of the Pro- tectorate - are to be reckoned with.
