The number of employees is at 12.5oo and is mainly distributed between Jitschin (iron brod), glass grinders in Podiebrad, glass factories in Gaya and Mese-rich, as well as glassworks in Wsetin. Short-time workers are relatively small. Occupational group 5: Metal industry The iron and metal industry, which is at the centre of the war-making industry, also offers an image of an increasing economic activity in terms of the number of employees, the turnover and the use of labour. Since the beginning of this year, the employment rate has risen from 268.ooo to 285.0o, accounting for about 38.ooo of iron and steel production, and 76ooo for the production of other metals.
