La - 2 - The experimental introduction of the extended sales times in Prague, Brno and Queen's Court of 18,4.l944 has not proved its worth. The investigation at 374 sales outlets in Prague and Brno showed that the professionals, especially in the armaments industry, only use the time from 7 p.m. to 8 p. m. in a completely different way, so that with effect from 25.6.1944 the working hours now valid were introduced. The purchase in food shops from 7 pm to 7.30 pm is still quite small. The sales times were extended from originally 46 1/2 hours to 49 1/2 hours and now to 53 1/2 hours. If one calculates daily only 1/2 hour for finishing, which in the rarest cases suffices, then the Arberes time is already often 56 1/2 hours, which implies besides the physical also a financial burden by overtime payment. To eliminate the observed undersupply of the armament workers were opened first retail shops at the Letoy plants in Prague, at the Klöckner plants in Gurein and at the weapons verken in Brno. In Pilsen and in other places they are prepared. The formation of snakes in front of shops could be effectively met in 35997 by the introduction of daily quotas and their distribution throughout the day. This shows that sales improvements have been introduced or are still in preparation over the last few months, the effectiveness of which is out of the question. I have therefore deliberately refrained from the proposed introduction of an instruction for war-committed German women on the preferred purchase so far. It would only result in the introduction of equal ID cards for a number of other working women who may be more war-ridden than women who are obliged to work. Such a proliferation of preferential ID cards would have to lead to an identification inflation which is likely to be dead on its own. */*
